I live around 30 minutes from iornmatt in lowland Derbyshire, we had arranged to meet up around 4-50 then we had a 45 minute drive up to his ground in the Peak District. Arrived 1hour before sunrise and started looking around with the thermals, slowly climbing to a small wooded area where we set up to wait for a pricket or a stag. As the sun was rising the bueaty of the location was revealed. After a short wait a young stag appeared on ridge around 280 metres away surveying his kingdom, we watch him for 10 minutes before he started walking down the ridge towards the wood. A whistle stopped him in his tracks around 230 metres and a Sako Blade 170 grain struck he ran 30 metres and collapsed in the wood. Luckily we could get the truck within 100 metres of the stag but it was still a tough drag uphill, I reckon he was a good 130 kgs with his head on. Throughly enjoyed Iornmatts company and the location is beautiful and a young stag on my birthday.
