a review of my new Fallow/Sika sack

That roe sack is virtually identical to one that a good friend of mine had made for me when I got my first stalkers job in 1991-2. I used it daily for two years then fairly regularly for the next ten years, now I use it only occaisionally due to the fact that where I am employed, I can get my vehicle to most wild deer. The canvas outer finally gave way and I simply attatched the straps directly to the tarpauling type inner and am still using it like this. That sack has been soundly used and abused and I am still very happy with it, just goes to show what you get when you buy (or recieve as a gift) quality items. I am very tempted to get another. JC

Well, after posting this, Poppins got in touch and it seems that she was the maker of the original! Dropped it back into her (only took about 2 hours, including all the tea drinking and fat chewing about deer, dogs, stalking etc!) and have now recieved a new outer of outstanding quality. Thanks again Poppins, see you in another 18 years when I have worn this one out! JC

My Sika Sack arrived this morning, all I can say is it really is a superb bit of kit, from the heavy waxed Ripstop material outer, wonderful leather work and a very heavy duty liner and it is BIG !!!!!! Not many things I buy (especially shooting related) where I look at it and immediately feel I have got more than my monies worth. Just the job and I am looking forward to using it.

Thankyou Sylvia you are a true Craft's Women, great to buy something truly Handmade, keep it up.

this is very interesting.
what size are they?

I have often thought about having something made for taking red hinds off the hill.
have found myself tying the front and rear legs together and slinging the resultant "loop" over my head like a courier bag! bit hard on the shoulders though!

+1, Mines an absolutely blinding bit of kit, i also use it while walking round for rabbits, pardon the pun poppins, but i Hope your back on your feet and doing well my dear?
