Help.
I am unable to purchase the above ammunition in Aberdeen, Glasgow or Edinburgh from any gun shops. This is a new requirement by the game dealer where beats are delivered for processing. Does anyone know of a company which stocks it for sale and could send it to me through the post?

Many thanks

I get my 7mm-08 factory rounds with with Fox Classic Hunter (copper/zinc) bullets from Edinburgh Rifles. They work very well.

In addition to Fox Classic Hunter from Edinburgh Rifles, I note that Macleods of Tain is listing Hornady CX in 7mm-08.

@Edinburgh Rifles do the Fox 130gn bullet in 7-08. I use the same bullet at similar speeds in 7x57 and it works very well, although it doesn’t gralloch and extract the carcass back to the truck, which is a little irritating :).

Give them a call. If they haven’t any in stock they should be able to get them pretty quickly.

Get one of the shops to order in some 139grn Hornady CX. I find it excellent and, as a bonus, it shoots exactly the same as the 139grn SST load in my rifle.

Have you tried @Edinburgh Rifles ? He'd be my first phone call.

For factory ammo your going to have to ask local RFD to get in what you want
Or
Fill car with go go juice and jaunt down to Edinburgh rifles

If you’re shooting a fair bit it might be time to consider getting reloading if you don’t already ….

How much are a box of factory either Hornady or the fox?
Price of ammo these days is quite a bit higher than in years gone buy. Doesn’t really matter what type of bullet you are using. There is still some cheap FMJ PPU type ammo around for target shooting but you still are looking at £1.50 a round.

But hunting type bullets these days are £1 to £1.50 each - again depends on brand, type, calibre and who is selling.

Loaded hunting ammo is about £3 to £4 a bang for decent quality.

Reloaded ammo - very much depends on how you cost it in terms of both equipment and your time but you are looking at least £2 a bang by time you have added a primer and powder.

Reasons are many. Huge amounts of powder are going up in smoke everytime an artillery shell is fired in Ukraine. Just about all the components for ammo are imported - UK sterling is not what it was, and actual process of importing is hugely time consuming so money has to be tied up for a long time - all adds to the cost that we pay.

So how much is a box of factory fox or Hornady CX?

Macleods of Tain are listing the Hornady 7mm-08 super performance 139 gr CX at £62.40 per box.

130 gr Fox from Edinburgh Rifles is £62.
