Accident

How did the intermediary get the contact details... GDPR ?
It appears they may be a subsidiary of the insurer, maybe?
In their email they also said: Other companies may contact you in relation to this accident, if they do, ignore and inform us.
We think we have got on top of this now but it’s taken way too much time phoning and ‘mailing people.
I can’t remember when I last made a claim but I do remember it was a matter of doing a report and drawing a sketch of accident site and posting it off, end of.

Only speak with your insurance company. It’s their job to sort the repair and a courtesy car for you, that’s what you pay them for. Should take one phone call only.

Who is your insurer?
Insurer is Prima/Alwyn.
Somewhere on Gib. I think.
That is my wife’s doing, I’m with Esure. 🙂

Remember that you will have to declare this accident and your premiums will increase for five years.
In my case which was settled just prior to going to court they paid out for 5 years potential increases in two vehicles. You should as this to your claim.

That's a very good point that we should all bare in mind.
I had the same when someone reversed into my bike with his van. Even 'though the van driver admitted liability, my insurer said that it would increase my premium. That's ****ing disgraceful!!

Has the Hospital agreed to actually share footage ? I would make sure and if you can get it sent to your insurance company ASAP before it goes missing.
Wifey spoke to security man before leaving hospital and he said he could provide footage if the insurance company asked them for it.
We don’t think it will be needed.
Thanks, Ken.
