viking[/b]] it's called 'practical shooting' and is good fun.
Be with a pistol or rifle. :-D

Not in the UK mate. Unless you are in the police or military, if it's done with a pistol it's called illegal

Exactly, I'm not in the UK. ;)

Accuracy

For those of us who have not been fortunate enough to get in to a group of deer, IE; more than one cull animal within range of your sporter barrel, a cloverleaf is something you should value greatly. A shooting partner of mine has a propensity for multiple kills on deer, four being common, we both practice at the range, & also during the working week on canada geese, bunnies, & foxes later in the evening on the lamp, if our group degrades below 3/4 inch @ 100 mtrs, with either .17HMR or .223Rem/22.250, then it's time to clean or re-jig. :)

My average range of shot is between 40 and 150 metres at roe and fallow, and I would not go longer for all sorts of reasons, humanity being just one of them. BUT all of my rifles shoot 1/2" MOA or better even with me behind the butt, and the reason for that is absolute confidence in a clean, humane shot when the opportunity arises, it has nothing at all to do with shooting live game at extended ranges.
Having said that, there is a certain satisfaction in assuring myself, rifle and ammunition out to 300, 400 , 500 mtres, if only to test the confidence thing on paper.

Just my opinion, and I am sure Others may choose to differ.
