Hi team,
I have got hold of two scopes (both S/H) to check out my preference:
- Swarovski Habicht 8x50 (30mm tube)
- Hawke Frontier 3-15x50 SF: FFP Mil Pro (illuminated, 30mm tube and practically brand new)
First thoughts (not mounted so not used in the field yet) are:
- Habicht has fantastic glass and is very easy view. Still got that parallax set at 100m I guess, but I do like it
- Hawke has parallax adjustment so that part goes away, and still very good glass. However it seems that my head/eye position has to be exactly right, not as forgiving as Habicht?
Is there a technical term for that??
So now its the 8x versus up to 15x as well as the parallax. I also prefer the 4A reticule as well.
The Hawke is a lovely scope but for bashing squirrels I am not sure its a bit much!
