Africa, any tips?

I’m not sure the subhuman primates are for me either. It’s not so long ago that they hunted the bushmen in the Kruger area as I’ve seen handwritten permits to kill them!
Warthogs were great fun and are quite numerous in places and would be my choice for kids. The prices do vary a bit from outfitter to outfitter

I really don't want to rain on your parade.

Just a thought.

Monkeys.

They are very 'human' like; in both their appearance and their reaction to shot.

Not for me that.
Vervets especially, they're a popular pet with bush dwelling kids. I had one as a kid, used to sit on the crossbar of my bike.
Baboon a different matter but generally not liked by people because of the damage they do.
Warthog or bushpig good choice, taste good too on the braai.

Some teeth on that! My eldest was bitten by a random Collie today, fortunate that we don’t have baboons here!
I hope he is OK . Would think a Collie would be aggressive.

As for the hunt there is nothing wrong with doing it on a budget.

My one trip I was nearly 50 and we had our 25th wedding anniversary in South Africa.

Wife was happy to have an adventure and I done a management hunt with the outfitters rifle.

Aside from that you might get offered something extra over there or a free animal or Baboons. I can't speak for your out fitter or the area.

Try have a little cash for an unplanned offer but don't offer up to early. It's business to them but if all is going well they might have "X" in abundance and want to reduce some numbers.

Warthogs are cool. I enjoy culling feral pigs when I can get out in the outback.
