Air Rifle Scope Recommendations ?

I have a Theoben Rapid 12 (12ft lbs non-fac) that I want to use for squirrels on bait stations at 15 to 20 yards range. The scope I have does not have adjustable parallax so the image of the target is somewhat blurred at the abovementioned ranges.
There is no problem with accuracy as the rifle and scope will put pellet after pellet in a ragged hole. Leaving it all alone is an option.
Is there a lightweight decent air rifle scope with front end parallax adjustment, at a sensible price available ? I really don't want to go for the enormous all singing and dancing scopes with sidewheels and the like.
I would be happy to buy a used scope from a reliable source.

Anything from MTC Optics, best value for money air gun scopes imho. Find the right scope and reticule and away you go.

Hawke Panorama is another good bet I’ve found.
+1 Easily the best scopes for the money for sub 12ft/lb air rifles - I have at least half a dozen of them in various guizes on some of my collection and I can’t fault them, all with front AO, good reticules and more often than not illuminated.

Get an old Japanese Nikko Stirling Gold Crown Wide Angle. I have a 3-9x40 on my S510 and it is crystal clear and unfussy which is what you want for the type of work you are doing. Getting a bit harder to find but if you look hard, people sometimes give them away. I blagged my last one for £25. £100 wouldn't prise it from palms.

Am I the only one who thinks that looking through Hawke scopes are like looking through dirty milk bottles?
I've not looked through any £300+ but any below just seem dark and lacking detail.

Please PM me. There is a BSA 4x32 'scope that I have on the table in front of me. It's like this one:

https://www.adorama.com/bsar4x32.html

It has, yes, front end distance adjustment from 7.5 yards to Infinity. I used it for indoor practice at ten yards on a BSA Supersport.

It will come with mounts but, alas, the rear mount clamp and its Allen bolt is knackered. My doing! But it will do what you want with a replacement set.

There are definitely some bad ones out there but also some good ones too. I have an old 3-12x50 Eclipse which is surprisingly good. I have friends who have other variants which are terrible and I mean truly terrible.

I would happily put mine on any air rifle or rimfire. Obviously nowhere near as good as many other scopes we all use and nowhere near as good optically as my old gold crown but mechanically it is good and the IR is very good.

I wouldn't pee on my mates though if they were on fire. They are shockingly bad.

My Hawke 3-9x40HD is very clear, so no problem there. It would appear to be non adjustable parallax, set at around 100 yards. Anything under about 50 yards is out of focus.

I have had some very helpful and generous offers from our members by PM. Looks like I am well on the way to being sorted :thumb:.
Thank you for all the replies :tiphat:. Squirrels watch out !

I use a fixed parallax vx1 3-9 on my air rifle. I just reduce the mag and it becomes ok. For animals it's ok. But for paper it would be hard work.

Hawke have really come on in recent years. the last scope I bought was an Endurance 8 x 56 for my .270 and I honestly cannot fault it!

Don't knock Hawke on their former reputation. Current offerings are worlds apart, and the new Frontier SF range in particular are their way of working away from the airgun stigma. Any recent Hawke with parralax adjuster, side or front lens is worth a squint.

Bushnell? I've got one on my rimfire, 2.5-15x50 Extreme SF. Side focus down to 10m, and a nice low power for close stuff (I use it for ratting round the feeders)
