Hi all, In need of an air rifle for a rabbit job, Thinking FX impact, .22 or .25?????

Had an m3 in .25 fac absolutely excellent for rabbit control and corridor control around farms and paddocks out to 80m. Certainly opens alot of land up that you couldn't use a 22lr on.

Only just put it up for sale as unfortunately don't have the time anymore or I would of kept it!

More than likely yes, but not too high, probably around the 20-25lbft.

Probably go 22 then, be way to loopy for a .25 at that power.

Be a case of light fast pellets with the power reduced right down if you were to go FX

Fx rifles love being shot at a high power from experience as that's what they are really designed for

My .22 impact is set up to run from 19ft lbs up to 44ft lbs and anything in between at the turn of a dial. Brilliant tool. It can go a lot higher but if I need more I use a rimfire so it's perfect for me. I don't want or need a 90ft lb air rifle or I'd have gone for .25

A .22 running at 45ft/lb with 21 grain pellets is a good tool .

I was playing with my FX Crown mkll (.22 FAC) yesterday. With the power wheel on max 23 I was getting single hole groups at 50yds, 1/2" groups at 70yds, with JTS 18gr pellets at 900fps. Turned the power wheel to min 1 and got single hole groups at 30yds with JTS 16gr pellets at 580fps.

I got a .25 wildcat approximately 860 fps with 27gn pellets. It was a pain in the ass to get a sweet spot between reg pressure and hammer spring tension but now it’s set up it’s a good option and bridges the gap between 12ft/lbs and 22lr nicely. I’d say pretty good out to 80 or so meters as long as you know your drops
