Fac air rifle opinions

I run a 177 at around 20 ft/lb

Awesome thing , absolutely lethal and the extra power makes it super accurate

Just depends on your intended use really

Hi Hammo and Ratcatcher,

Hammo- I don’t want to side track the thread but what pellets are you using in your FX Dreamline? I’m currently using H&N Barracuda 18s.
In reply to Ratcatcher I use a .22 FAC and really rate it, i rarely use the .22LR now. Thinking about a compressor as the only issue is recharging it and the 5 year limit recheck on the tank and getting it refilled is a hassle. Even with this the FAC air rifle is my preferred rabbit gun.
Thanks
Hi
I have been using RWS hobby flat heads for ratting close range. Also knock out slugs for longer range rabbits. Best pellet for accuracy has been jsb exact jumbo 5.52.

This feels the old classic .177 or .22 thread!! My view is .22 all the way in fact super accurate and relatively easy on the air consumption. Just don’t try shooting without it moderated. 😏

I have FX crown .22 running at 43 ftlbs with slugs and 35 ftlbs with 18 gr pellets , plus I can take it down to 12 ftlbs in seconds very accurate gun. Just over 70 shots per fill

Also have FX impact .25 absolutely laser accurate with anything, but shoot 33gr -35 gr slugs and pellets at 72ftlbs . About 65 shots per fill can take it down too 45 ish ftlbs using 25 gr pellets with more shots per fill
FX maverick .22 once again very accurate gun with slugs and pellets. Shooting 34 gr slugs around 55 ftlbs very under rated gun

rti mora are getting very good reviews from real shooters not YouTubers

Very useful thank you. R

I have a Maverick Compact in .22. I am happy for general use but for extended ranges (80 yards plus) I wish I had gone .25 and a longer barrel to get most out of Slugs.
I get an easy 40 shots on full power.

I have a Maverick in .25 running at 960 fps using zan 35g slugs , very accurate often taking magpies at 100yds,
I have fitted a 700cc carbon bottle giving me plenty of shots , also have a Rapid running at 40 ft lb , but always take the FX out.

What length barrel are you using ?

700mm plus the carbon stifling tube , also bottle ,barrel support machined to fit so no barrel movement
Interesting set up.
My FAC air will get most use in a hide so not sure how practical the 700mm barrel would be.
Thanks for the reply.
Russ.

Best air rifle I ever had was a Theoben Rapid 7, as previously stated was a brilliant pest control rifle and was a great infill in that gap between a standard air rifle and bringing out a 22lr
