Alliant reloader 15

I've used RL15 in my 308 for some years now and found it very good. I don't believe in any of the fancy reloading mumbojumbo, I just load up ammo and shoot it. Initially I was running a max book load of RL15 (I worked up and it was accurate and no pressure signs so that is what I used) behind the 150 grain Spire Points but when I shot this over the chrono it was producing 3000fps from my Blaser which I think has a 22.7 inch barrel maybe? Anyhow it seemed a bit fast so I reduced the load a bit. I've used the RL15 on bullet weights from 110 grain to 165 grain and notice no difference in accuracy that isn't related to my ability to point it in the right direction. So my advice is that if you have some then load it up and shoot it, it works great. The Alliant reloading data is here:

As above. No sense in buying something else id RL15 works in 308 for that weight. It may be double base but barrel life should be fine if you're not chasing high MVs and keeping pressures sensible. With a 150, I usually load to around 2700fps in my 308 using 43.8 gr N140. It's similar or the same as older TR140. In theory, RS50 should be the same but I've found RS gave more uniform mV rise with loads whereas Vhit (pre 2020) used to spike with higher loads/temps but Vhit I understand have modified their extruded propellants to improve anti-fouling and reduce temperature sensitivity. Vhit's all I use now, or will be once I get through my last tubs of RS50 and RS62.

What results have people had using this powder. 308. - 150 gr nosler BT / T3x / 20 inch barrel with 1 in 12 twist??
Don’t shoot me down I’ve been loading for my 243 and just moving to a 308
N140 all day long, but if you already have a good stock of RL15 then stick with it
