I’ve a nice wee, light aluminium trailer that is suffering with surface oxidation. Photo is representative of most of it. What are folk using to treat the oxidation on ally trailers and also to coat to protect?

Aluminum oxidation is a chemical reaction where aluminum reacts with oxygen in the air, forming a thin layer of aluminum oxide on its surface. This oxide layer acts as a protective barrier, preventing further corrosion, but excessive oxidation can lead to deterioration of the metal
It won't just be oxidation but salt corrosion as well.
Looks like galve to me.
Put a magnet to it.
Oxidised zinc is right on up there with oxidized lead for bad stuff but we don't mention that when it comes to zinc...... because people don't shoot zinc.
If @JockStalk goes down this route.....I have a 5l bottle of FS365 (from when I had chain drive bikes) going free. If you're heading to the far North in May I can bring it with me.
