Altberg Raby Boots

Never been able to fault any pair of altbergs I've ever owned especially if you follow their guidance on how to care for them and I've seen people put them through some serious abuse. They can resole them too if you manage to burn through the sole and not the upper I know of one specific set of altberg boots that did 2000km of hard work before they needed doing.

Highly rate mine, ive neer had them leak and ive been in some fairly wet ground. they are quite hard in the soles, heavy and stiff so a nice supportive boot, I've often considered a few other brands like the brandecosse or the le chameaue or meindl however I know and trust altbergs.

I use the Alt-Berg ‘mil ops’ boot. Mine is the unlined version and I wear them all over Dartmoor through the winter. They are most comfortable boot I’ve owned and after 34 years in the Army, I’ve worn a few. I use Superfeet insoles because they suit my (knackered) feet, and I use Ledergris. I’m not sure on price but while they’re probably much cheaper than the Raby, I’d visit the shop in Richmond and see what works for you.

You don’t mind the wet feet being unlined?

I'm in grisport. 3rd winter now of 6 days a week 12 months year on sheep farm. And I take no care of my boots but still going strong.
I also use these.
Just ordered my third pair and I must say I don't get the mileage you seem to get out of them but am still happy with the way they last at the purchase price of £125.
The ones to avoid are Harkila, had two pairs and neither of them lasted more than six months.
If you buy Harkila make sure you keep the receipt!

Anyone got any long term feedback or reviews on the Altberg Raby boots?

Struggling with all sorts of brands at the moment as it appears everyone is.

Thanks in advance!
Not really long term but my Raby boots are in their third year. Really comfortable and waterproof. Excellent service from Altberg. If you can’t go to the factory in Richmond go to an Altberg retailer to get your feet measured then phone the factory with the measurements for a bespoke fit. My boots were made for me at no extra cost based on their measurements and are very comfortable.

I have recently bought two pairs of altberg. Went to the factory had my feet measured properly and then purchased a pair of the raby boots for game shooting and asked them to do me a pair of the raby boots with high rubber sole and a micro lite sole for stalking. Got a really good price on both aswell.
Absolutely fantastic so far, compared to meindls I used for years they genuinely are making my days more enjoyable.
