An over equipped query- Slings!

When stalking I use a bino harness to keep all of my tackle in. Works great and not planning on changing this.

I have a couple of rifle slings on different rifles. A leather type sling and then a silly, slightly elasticated sling which is irritating.

I'm considering splashing on a new sling in the style of the z aim or niggeloh rucksack sling. Not so keen on the rucksack style but the z aim type seem very practical and there seems to be a few alternative brands.

My question, is anybody using such a type of sling WITH a bino harness? I've never even tried one but in my mind it would be the hunting equivalent of 'getting your knickers in a twist'.

I use a harkila bino thing with a roe sack and niggeloh Rucksack sling and don’t suffer from the tangle you speak of.

I did wonder about that when I was given the bino harness last year as a gift. But it’s fine in my experience.

I use a different brand of sling similar to z aim and use an Alaska guide creations bino harness. It works really well. Rifle is secure on my back and not allowed to bounce around.

The issue with rucksack slings depends on the mounts are on the rifle. They need to be on the side of the stock to ensure the rifle doesn’t flop about. I have a rucksack sling from a Czech manufacturer which is brilliant but works better on a tactical style rifle.

Z aim style works best for hunting imho

I did look at the Z Aim and similar.

I'm going to keep my money and just use a piece of paracord with a slipknot to do the same thing, shouldn't get in the way either.

If you wear a rucksack (may work with a bino harness depending how it attached) put it on, put the rifle on your shoulder but then do the chest strap on the rucksack up but over the rifle sling which will hold it in place and stop it slipping off your shoulder.

I use a z-aim in conjunction with a bino harness - no dramas.

I do, however, forego a small rucksack & just use my pockets for odds n ends... the rucksack was just too many straps to tangle up. And I looked like a well-armed bondage enthusiast....😬
