Wanted: Antique/Vintage Guns

Hi I'm looking for the above for my collection. Any obsolete/deact guns considered. Right now particulaly after Lever action (Winchester / Marlin), early cartridge rifles/pistols eg Martini Henry, Snider Enfield.

Thanks for that, I'm really interested in the larger calibres. I see you have a Henry Big Boy in the shop, I take it that ones a section1, pity.
If anything comes in give me a shout. Out of interest does the marlin cock and dry fire.

Current spec of deactivation according to latest EU law does not allow for any cocking or trigger action

we have some others just in including a Winchester 44 Mag but they are fully functioning Sec1 firearms

I have been wondering about this, as I have seen several dealers selling 'old spec' deacts, as well as a few of the old 'factory inert' rifles that were banned with the EU law changes back whenever it was (2015?)... I also see several of them listing 'UK deact - only for sale outside of the EU'.

Did something change in the last few years meaning these can now be sold again?

As I understand it, the EU regulation/specification was not referenced (by omission or incompetence, take your pick) in the latest UK Home Office statutory guidance, and therefore legal opinion is that the last regulation/specification referenced remains in force - ie UK "old spec".

The large deact dealers seem fairly confident in their legal interpretation, and apparently the Proof Houses are not refusing to certify new "old spec" deacts.

Personally, as an RFD, I wouldn't want to be the "test case" in court, and so I won't have anything to do with deacts.

I wouldn't rely on the latest home office guidance as at one point one update effectively put all expanding ammunition back onto section 5 before the concept of version control was introduced and a further new update was released. Whilst the guidance is useful, it isn't a complete summary of all of the firearms acts and clauses that have come into effect.

The deactivation changes were passed into law on 12th December 2019 Another change to the legislation on deactivated firearms is the requirement to notify the home office of the sale, transfer and purchase of Deactivations. so if you were to purchase an old spec and then notify the home office that you've purchased a old spec you may well find yourself being that "test case".
