Any experience with a cheap escort?

I had one of the early ones. Can't have paid more than £150 for it. cycled everything I put through it, mainly pigeon & some heavy loads for foxy.

I sold it & upgraded to a beretta ulrika 2, which I never got on with (hated the recoil saving stock). I wish I kept the hatsan.

Have a look at the Franchi Affinity - not a lot more money but a much nicer and better handling gun than the Hatsan.

Thanks for the replies. I feel I have learnt a lot about some of you- possibly too much!
I think I’d go with a wooden (woodish looking; think I read they did a fake wood somewhere) stock and possibly shortest barrel I could find for ease in the hide. And hope there is a chance of recourse if it one of the rare dogs about. Is there a time frame or model number to avoid?
what’s your opinion of FAC shot capacity worth doing? And on then variation do I need to state the shot capacity I.e 4+1 or is it a case of just a semi auto high capacity 12 gauge?

As per the title I’m potentially thinking of a semi auto in particular the Hatsan escort....what did you think!!
Really this is going to a working gun in the hide for the pigeons and the foreshore so like the idea of the 3” chamber and multi choke and lets face it they are dirt cheap. Anyone had one, used one, hated one or loved one.

I have had a Hatsan for a few years now it works fine cheap and cheerful. Only thing I found an issue is sometimes it would double feed short cartridges, but when using long ones Iv never had any issues
