I have a wood shed, bear with me. It is relevant. If you have a woodshed, you also have rats, so I have a driveway sensor that foes off when an animal is near my woodshed. It is in the roof pointed downwards so narrow field. Once that does off, then I can wander outside with the thermal. It has always been a rat. I can then shoot it as it enters and exits my compost bin as I choose. You can buy those things of a certain auction site for not a lot of money.
