Any info about optics-world.nl?

Hi, I had the same bad experience... i've bought on-line a PULSAR CORE, optics-world.nl ask me to pay by wire because of the amount (3500€). It was january 17 2018. After one week, the status of my order was still "pending". I asked a few times if they received my money (paid directly). The famous Thomas replied that they received my money but didn't give me accurate informations about the shipping... After several mails, Thomas told me that the delay is not garantueed so i wanted to cancel my order... on february 4th 2018, Thomas told me that they normally receive the product in a few days and that he keeps me informed... we are february 20th and no news, order still pending... BE CAREFULL (more than me) AND DON'T BUY FROM OPTICS-WORLD.NL !!!
I am sorry to hear that. What I do not understand is the fact that they keep on doing the same over and over again and nothing happens to them.
 
I ordered a scope from them ages ago. Still have not received what I ordered. I'll post more info when my case is settled, but long story short: he's acting in a dishonest way.
 
I'd love pm regarding any lawyer or legal layman with experience of dealing with this scoundrel. Unfortunately, I live in a EU country that is neither the UK nor the Netherlands.
 
Ok. For all those people who are contacting me or having the same problem with this scam:
Try to write a bad review on their facebook page and on google reviews, it usually works. Some people also told me that they got their money back the moment a lawyer contacted Thomas. It looks like he has had bad experiences with lawyers (no wonder why...). One customer named a Holland lawyer: Spera Advocaten in Heerlen Ms. Ulla Gaertner. You will find her address on the web, google her. I know she won a case and Thomas had to pay for it, so she already knows him. Hope this can help.
 
He has claimed several times that he sent my stuff thursday last week. So far no evidence that this is true. Will have to take legal action next week (I've e-mailed the dutch lawyer mentioned above). Why is he doing this? It's such a strange behaviour.

What makes it so weird is that he actually sent me almost exactly the scope I had ordered last year when I made the purchase. He was very polite and apologized and told me he would send me the right scope if I sent the wrong one back. If this is a scam then it's a very strange modus operandi.

Why is he doing this? Do you think he's out of money and can't afford neither to refund his dissapointed customers nor to buy the scopes he owes us? How the hell can this have been going on for so long?
 
I do not really know, but it looks like his modus operandi is trying to keep people's money as long as he can. That is why he is almays making up excuses or sending the wrong products. I think he has very few actual products. I do not know what he does with the money or how it is possible that he is been doing it for years.
 
It has to be a ponzi scheme. He pays old customers with money from new customers. What a gigantic *******. I will go as far as I legally can to make sure this guy gets the reputation he deserves. I just hope I get me money back before he goes bankrupt.
 
Bloody hilarious. I raved and ranted a bit on his Facebook page and he suddenly started responding to my e-mails. Remember, he maintained that he put the scope in the mail Thursday last week, but that his employee just hadn't gotten around to sending me the tracking code that you get immediately when you mail it. He asked me to remove the negative review and that I should relax because my scope was already shipped. A couple of hours after I removed the review I got the code. When I entered the code to the PostNL website, it said that the parcel had been received by PostNL that same afternoon. (i.e. yesterday, not last week)

Can you believe it? I can't figure it out any other way than he was lying to me all the time but the very, very, very slight pressure of a negative Facebook review made him cave in and send me what I had ordered.

Oh, scratch that by the way, all I know is that he sent me SOMETHING , we'll see if it is what he promised.
 
Two things have happened since my last post.

1) The scope arrived. It's fantastic. I nagged Thomas about the rings he had promised me but never sent. He didn't really reply at first, but then we managed to have a discussion and he promised me a Spuhr mount as compensation for the ordeal.

2) Then the amazing thing happened: I actually got a Spuhr mount in the mail just a couple of days after our last e-mail exchange. Almost couldn't believe it when I took it out of the box...

I have had some very hard feelings about this, as you can read above. I think optics world could improve the way they handle orders and communications. It is, however, impossible to deny that the complete value-for-money that I have gotten out of this deal is fantastic. The original deal for the scope was a good deal, and with the mount thrown in free of charge, I'm very pleased.

In my experience posting a negative Facebook post certainly got his attention.
[FONT=arial, sans-serif]Spera Advocaten have him on record and know about him, in my case just the threat of using them was enough to get him to pay up.
Ulla has now left but I dealt with [/FONT]Tim Stoffelen who was very helpful.

I bought a Kahles scope of these guys a few months back, good price and no problems at all with the delivery. Seems like I was lucky, I would normally buy from a U.K. supplier but it was going to be months before the Kahles scope were available here so I took a chance..
 
I can't believe that anyone is still doing business with this individual given the large number of reported issues with him, all in order to save a few bucks? Harder still to understand those who actually know about him, passing over in some cases, thousands of pounds then complaining on a forum when the inevitable happens. Safer bet for uk customers is to wait for somewhere like Optics Warehouse to have one of their sales or wait until they batch buy (I did this when they managed to get a batch of PM2s at a knockdown price) as your money and their reputation is at least safe.

Good luck to all those out of pocket with Optics-World and Thomas van Veghel. I hope you all manage get your optics or a refund before too long.
 
I think Chester’s right, having read this thread I wouldn’t buy again.. I was blissfully ignorant the first time.




Although having said that we don't know how many happy customers there have been, in the days of the internet it only takes a few bad reviews to make something seem really bad. People rarely go out of their way to say how good something is.

My expierience with the optics-world guys are the total opposite. I have bought several scopes and stuff from them....yes there is sometimes delays! But I have been always been treated nicely. I got a thermal scope for testing and as I revied that I´m not happy with it...no problems! I´m in the sports buisiness and I know about the problems with manufacturers and their deliveries... I go longrange Shooting and hunting and have lots of Special stuff and I know about Import problems sometimes!
So I guess those Opticswold guys have same problems sometimes and not every customer can be happy because they are not able to keep every promise of delivery in time! I like the shop and they have the very best pricing...just few Cents from a happy customer...normally the hundrets of happy customers dont give a Feedback...only few unhappy ones!

Sorry, but in spite of those with positive experiences, I do not call waiting 17 months, or in some cases, not getting your scope at all, as acceptable.

As for "...those Opticswold guys have same problems sometimes..." well that is not an acceptable excuse for outright scamming people out of money for products clearly they don't actually hold. That's fraudulent at worst and **** poor business practice at best. There's plenty with an axe to grind as this story has run for several years now and there's been far more than just "a few unhappy ones!".
 
There are few businesses advertising stuff that is not on the their shelves. Once bitten, twice shy! Vote with your feet/wallet.

I am from Indonesia. I was bought 5 scopes from Optics World Nl, All was received in good quality and price very competitive, Thomas have very good product knowledge. Founded problem was delay shipment in 2 scope from 5 , it was happened with export license and delay delivery from the manufacturer but it was solved. Hope this help. Thanks.

Another person joined here just to back Optics World Nl? Can you read and have you used the search function here? If so you'd see that this isn't about some customers receiving satisfactory service. It's about the many (not a few....MANY) who have been scammed out of hard earned and either never received anything or had to resort to threats of legal action or negative reviews to get their hard earned money back. Anyone handing over money to this person must like to gamble. I'm surprised that OW-Nl doesn't have their own late night advertising on TV, shown along with those from casino world and the like! BlackjacK? maybe...spin the wheel for a cheap scope? Yeah, that'll do...where do I place my wad of cash....oh wait...it didn't fall on black..there goes my hard earned...
