So what tobaccos are people smoking?
I've settled in four now. Far and away my favourite is Gawith's coffee and caramel. Produces masses of soft, warm, sweet smoke. Tastes and smell fabulous and goes - unsurprisingly - perfectly with a cup of coffee.
Second is probably Gawith's Kentucky Nougat. Sweet, aromatic and long burning with a very fine ash. I've tried several brands of these fruity, top-dressed tobaccos and they tend to taste artificial. This one doesn't. It's a lovely smoke and silky smooth.
Still smoking Exclusive black cherry in the evenings. Lovely natural black cherry flavour with a decent bit of strength. Great in a large, long-smoking pipe when the fire's lit.
And lately I've discovered Gawith's rich dark spring dew. Typical Kendal tobacco with grassy hay-like flavours. There's a distinct note of geranium when first lit, which I do find a bit odd, but as it smokes it becomes more and more complex and much richer and it's exceptionally smooth. Really nice tobacco at work and out of doors.
