Any pipe smokers on here?

Been a pipe smoker for years now, and despite the GP urging me to give the evil thing up, I carry on because I am a moderate smoker and enjoy it. My tobacco's of choice include Petersons' Standard mix, Samuel Gowith's Bothy Flake, and over the counter I smoke Clan (which needs some drying out to avoid burning too hot).

With all the talk of black cherry I’ve bough some Kendle Exclusive Black Cherry. Tried it this morning, very nice. Any other black cherry recommendations?

I had to go in to town today to get my eyes tested (I now have to have Cataract Surgery) and could not resist a stop off in my local "smoker's" shop. I came out with a small pouch of Black Cherry and Vanilla pipe tobacco.
Oh my, I had forgotten how nice that Black Cherry and Vanilla tasted!

Enjoy Frenchie, life is getting harder so have what you like, I've stopped because I was smoking and enjoying it too much, 2oz every five days, KBC. Getting too pricey.

I know what you mean. I have restricted myself to just a couple of small pouches per week!

Filter or not ? and if so what type. Asking as first timer
I don't bother with a filter but I smoke a Falcon Pipe which was not designed to have one. I did try a different pipe with a filter but didn't like it much.
However it is down to the individual to try and find out what suits them best.
Not very helpful an answer I know so sorry. Whatever you try just enjoy it!! :tiphat:

Nice

But more likely meerschaum. Ivory would burn

The ornate bit is definitely ivory, but if you look you'll see that the actual bowl of the pipe, the "combustion chamber", so to speak, where it gets hot, is made from a different material (clay, I think).

I have put a few bits for sale in the other items section if anyone is interested
