We have a new corporate logo that has to be used for all materials. I seem unable to use it to change my old logo presentations into the new ones. I've tried
Simple copy past
Saved new version in Custom Office Themes
Opened from old version and browsed to the new version

All either do not copy across or only do the first two slides.

Very frustrating, so has anyone a good suggestion? Windows PC, so not a Mac issue

'Slide master' in PPT is what you seek.

This video will explain it, you will only need to watch to about 7min in.

My admin girl for my business is a guru on this sort of thing. Message me if you still need it doing. Maybe chuck £20 to charity when done if you go this route.

If you want the logo to appear in every slide then go to View, Slide Master. This opens all the master slides.

You will/may see that there is a hierarchy, with various levels - basically the top level “parent” slides will not be indented, whereas the “child” level slides will show as indented.

If you insert the logo into the parent level master slides then all the child slides beneath will inherit the logo. If you have multiple parent level slides then insert the logo into each.

You can do the same with things like slide number, date, copyright text, etc.

For existing PowerPoint decks you may need to change to the new template, which you can do by using the “Layout” option.

Easier done than explained!

Sounds like the template is locked. Try importing the new logo as a picture and then placing it over the old logo to cover it.
This is tricky, however, if the slide background is graded or a specific pattern.

Now sorted, thanks for the contributions.

Sadly it appears it is not possible for a one click solution to change the font and the insertion of the logo to all slides. Highlighting all slides (Ctrl-A) is as close as one can get but there will still be formatting errors.

@Buchan - there is a sub 10-click solution!

Did you try this?

Open your presentation:

Click on "View > Slide Master" and select the very first slide in the view - we will call this the Parent slide:

Click on "Insert > Picture > Picture from File":

Select the image that you want and position it on your Parent slide - see how all the subordinate Child slides inherit the logo from the top-level Parent slide:

Click on "View > Normal" to go back to the regular slides - this is how the logo should now appear:

If you then insert a new slide it will also have the logo on it.

To change the font, you may need to do this on each of the templates (child slides) that you use in the presentation. However the process is the same:
  • Click on "View > Slide Master"
  • Select the Child slide you want
  • Click on the relevant text box
  • Click "Home"
  • Click on the drop-down box for the fonts, and select the one you want - you should see your text change
  • Click "View > Normal" to go back to the regular side view - you should see the text has changed fonts
