Any Shultz and Larsen fans?

I have victory in 243 and 3006. Both with S&L mounts and mods. The 243 has the minimum baffles in the mod, the 06 has the full set of baffles. I can think of no reason to ever change these, having gone through a good few rifles i now have these two and will be keening them for sure

Anyway, happy weekend.

Found this delightful example and in a lovely calibre for knocking over woodland critters:

The only thing I'd have to change is the ugly profile of the forend tip which cries out for a peice of horn.

Got mine from Steve in 30-06, bore sighted, second shot spot on, in 150g game king, hoping to use it on the Boar later on, super rifle.

So, just got the renewal and with it the variation for an 8X57, I am very interested in an S&L (model undecided) but was wondering what all you good people thought of them, I have read very good thongs until now but can't find an MOA figure for any of them.

Any and all help appreciated!
Just to add to what is a common theme - Ive got a S&L Victory grade 2 in 30-06, bought from Steve at Ivythorne, absolutely love it. Accurate and very smooth action, only down side being I tend to reach for the composite stocked Sauer if the weather is really bad as I don't want to spoil it! as said though, easy to keep clean and looked after, and its no disadvantage. Ive got a barrel on order in 338-06 and will definitely go for another Victory when the rumoured composite stock comes out.

edit - meant to add, if you're at all interested in S&Ls join Stuarts FB group! Schultz & Larsen UK

What about the double triggers?

I have these on my Krico .22wmr, and don't like them at all. I'd replace them with a regular single trigger if I could find one.

100% with you on that but I'm assuming it would be no straight forward matter.

No idea about the Mauser, but I think it would be simple enough on my Krico (famous last words?).

I'm considering buying an old beat-up Krico somewhere with a single trigger that I could cannibalise for a spare mag, firing pin, and stock too. Possibly a bit OTT, but I'm attached to the rifle (the first I ever bought) and spare parts for Kricos are next to impossible to come by. I'd probably pick up an old rifle much cheaper than all the parts combined anyway, even if I was able to find them.

If starting again I doubt I would have ever have known about my favourite Husqvarna 1900s and would quite likely have gone for a new S&L and been very happy. I think S&L was what I was looking and never knew existed at the time. I came across a second hand 1900 to get me going and it was so good I never looked back.

For those who like the walnut and blued style rifles with super smooth bolts and under-the-radar type popularity the Husqvarna 1900 (the same action appeared as Carl Gustav as well) is worth a look.

My first rifle happened to be one of these, quite by accident and I have become addicted to them - all 3 of my centrefires are now 1900s.

The 1900 has been reinvented by Zoli and can be bought new - I don’t know of the quality but one of my husqvarna 1900s was made by Zoli (goodness knows when) under contract and I’m quite happy with it. The worst thing about owning one (or an old one) is having it screw cut. A sad day but makes it a very practical rifle for my needs.
