Good for heating meat pies too, and you don't get soggy pastry like a microwave.I have one, a Tefal something or other. Has the usual basket that all do but also came with a proper griddle thing you can put in the bottom which is briliant for cooking meats on.
As @scotch_egg says, fries and chips are superb in the air fryer. Quicker and better than an oven.
What is also good are burgers and steaks. I would still put loin in the pan on the hob but if you are cooking a venison burger for example, the air fryer does it brilliantly on the griddle attachment.
Lb of mince, 50grams of beef fat, a healthy dose of onion granules and some seasoning and smoked paprika and mix it up, shape in to your burger and chuck in the air fryer for 8 minutes. The fat renders down and because it cooks it all round and from underneath you get an even cooked through burger which is not dry. Really juicy. I have a couple each week.
Bacon is not too bad in them either and doesn't smoke the house out like it does when you grill them using the oven. Put in tin foil and no mess to clean up.
Onion rings are also stupidly well cooked and crispy in an air fryer.
Sweet potato hash is another good one.
Yes, I agree, I’m a huge fan of pressure cookers , I have two myself. and In the pressure cooker, the resulting stew tastes of the ingredients you put in . Unlike a slow cooker which leaves whatever you put into it tasting musty and sweaty .Pressure cooker on it a revelation as well
A 35 mins or so with venison casserole or stew is equivalent to 6-8 hrs in slow cooker
