Application/ variation quandry

I gave up my license 6 years ago when my little girl came. Anyway, I've re applied and asked for a fox cal (22-250) and a 6.5x55 for deer. When my feo comes, would it be out of the ordinary to ask for 6.5 centrefire as opposed to just one cal? On the grounds that, I haven't fully made my mind up, and I could be swayed with what is on the market at the time that my license comes.
There seem to be more creedmoor on the shelves in my local shop and second hand. I'm not exactly married to any one cal being honest.

I'm asking here first before asking the feo when they come for their visit in case other people have had this experience in the past.

I think what you are asking is whether you can ask for 6.5 Centre Fire so you are free to choose Swede or Creed?

If so, you could ask. I did, and my certificate came back with Creedmoor.

You might be lucky.

Yeah, I don't know if I made that clear. I'd like to ask for 6.5 centre fire as opposed to any particular one should it be .55 or cm.

If the feo forces my hand I'll stick with the swede. It's a shame you can't just ask for 'deer cal' and make your mind up in the shop.

It’s not unheard of, the usual answer is that you have to make up you mind before you know what is available 😒

I have and I know a few other who only have the nominal bore specified and not the cartridge for all entries. The majority specifies the cartridge.

The forms ask you to state ‘calibre’, not ‘cartridge’. Don’t over complicate it and put down 6.5mm and let your FEO raise any questions. My 7mm is simply listed as 7mm, I have a Rem Mag.
