Appreciation post for Firearms Scotland, noticeably Moray/Inverness/Aberdeen.

License came posted today from a new application. Been about 10-12 weeks I would say from applying to being posted.

Amazing that nowadays with the technology available 10 - 12 weeks is applauded and held up there.

That is for a "New" application, although not ideal, it is up there with some of the "Best" experiences posted on here.

Glad to hear you got you license and are pleased with the time it took. It could be worse or quicker, judging by the various experiences in other police authority areas.

Personally, when I applied for my section 1, some 7 years ago. it took 10 days for my license to arrive on the door mat from point of application- which I was impressed with, that’s was Lothian police area / police Scotland.

I think the trend for police Scotland is it’s getting slower, unfortunately . My gf is currently going her sgc application and there are more hoops, extra checks, and longer delays than I experienced. V frustrating. But probably a sign of the times.
