Are Blasers the most overated rifle?

Hi all

Appreciate im new here. Been following the forum for a while and the snobbery that goes with blasers is unbeleivable. People seem to hold them up on a pedastal. But from all i can see is that they are over priced under engineered rifles. Most of the people that own them top them with the top end swaros and shot 1 or 2 deer a year anyway. Any stalker worth his salt will have a sako over a Blaser. Fact!

Cheers rick

An interesting view on it. Do you base purchases purely on practicality? I find som things jdt dont tickle my famcy no mater how good they supposedly are. Spice girls? Are you a fan of the music or the women? Haha

yeah i totally agree. they should ban blaser rifles.

Welcome to the forum Rick. It does seem there is little point to your question, other than to get some
people's backs up. I've never shot a Blaser, but I do own a Sako, but I imagine there is some merit to both.

One day ill learn how to use a blaser. Im sure they are overpriced but then again i heard they dont have the same ejection issues as the model 85 but you probably need to wear a face shield.

Not at all woodlander. Id like to understand what it is that seems to justify the cost and hype that they seem to receive. I knownalot of people on here use them so hopefully they will say what it was that sold the blaser to them. Bravo on the sako. What flavour do you have?

Im pretty sure Podge and Rodge dont use sakos.

Lol ive got a sako. I find it good for clubbing harp seals. Nothing wrong with Sakos but i guess a mosin nagant makes a better club.

Forget about the hoy paloy bit

blasers are a well made piece of kit, IMHO utterly reliable and really accurate, mine get some stick and none of em have never let me down from a 22 LR..222, 243, 6.5 x55 .308 they all perform faultlessly.

if you get a decent tool you look after it and it doesn't fail you, new barrels just fit perfectly, trigger pull is crisp as glass, that's what really matters, what else do you want from a rifle. One of the best out there by a mile

There are always people looking to knock Blaser owners but as us Blaser owners say 'Sticks and stones may break our bones but that's ok as we can afford Bupa as well as a Blaser' :D

Did you have a bad experience with a Blaser as a child?

So far only one person has actually said why they like blasers. Most of the rest seem angry that a peasant has dared speak up against tgeir beloved blaser.

As for the blaser owners can afford bupa aswell as a blaser that is exactly the kind of snobbery that i was reffering to. Thankyou for a demonstration within this thread

FCS! It's all a question of "to each his own". What rocks one's boat doesn't necessarily rock someone else's. Why did the OP get a Sako instead of a Blaser? Or more interestingly, why a Sako instead of a Tikka?

I myself have 4 Sako 85's. Why? Because, above all the technical stuff such as accuracy (the Tikka is on par here), calibre-specific actions, steel double-row mag and so on, I prefer the clean lines of the Sako actions and stocks. The flush-fitting magazine, the finish. It pleases my eye and I'm prepared to indulge myself.

Cheers

Might I suggest that you broaden the discussion to include, BASC, head shots and ballistic tips to name but a few topics before admin close this thread down as serving no useful purpose?

I feel this thread has made my sako feel insecure as a harp seal club. The 416 Remington blaser barrel makes a club bar excellence.
