Before I part with my hard earned ,can somebody tell me if the reticle is centralised to the screen when switched on,plus is there a difference between the 850 and 940 ir modules for distance.

It is only central if your X/Y settings for your chosen zero are 0/0. Assuming you will have to change the X/Y settings It does centralise when you apply digital magnification.
850nm is better for long range.

I can't speak for the 940, but I can easily shoot foxes out to 300+ yards and can ID them further out than that on a good night with mine on 850.
The on-board ir and the light weight of the whole unit are the main benefits for me. I've used a few various Alpex's and I've just bought a second Zulus.
