ATV training course

The trouble with Elmwood is that they do not do this course that the FC require. So I'll also be pleased to hear how you get on sikadog. Is it this NPTC thing?

Hi

Try Borders College as it's NPTC - Sit in as well as Sit astride options. But you would need to ring and ask for Andrew Johnson ( Course Coordinator) to be quoted a price etc.

Better than just one on the back:rofl:

good days back then  .I would never expect a young lad todo that now. Everything with horns goes in a very light trailer and we make multi runs back to the landrover. But back then it was the norm for us to over load the Quad . My personal best was 8 hinds on a honda bigred.

pic below has 5 on it.

8 hinds on a bigred, that puts my 13 in an Argo to shame, though I did manage three stags in a Suzuki sj:rofl:

PASSED NPTC ATV TEST
Today, as long as you are used to a quad and know about weight transfer and can read the paperwork they send just do the test forget about tne course.

You should be able to download the NPTC assessment schedule from their website, that and a copy of the AFAG guide (also downloadable, I'd imagine) will see most people through an assessment. No need for training. I'll try and find some links.

Shabz
Its a very good link But a lot of it is like most heath and safety blurb not realy relevent.
Go on to the NPTC website and look up the course notes and they will tell you exactly what you need to know for the test.
The HSE link goes into things that are not in the test so you dont need to know them to complete a NPTC test.
