AyA had lots of different models and model identities over the years and a lot depended on where and whom was selling them. Fundamentally all good solid well made guns, but price points quality ranged from a cheap working single shot AyA Cosmos, to top end sidelocks built for Royalty, and every where in between. The cornerstone of the UK offering was the No 2 Sidelock, the No 3 Boxlock and No 4 Boxlock Ejector. These were all well made guns, with disk set strikers and good actions very much based on British guns. In many ways the earlier ones were better built. Styling did evolve and change over time.
Values vary hugely, and very much depends on what it is. Boxlocks - a few quid up to a few hundred for best grade boxlock ejectors.
Sidelocks - a few hundred up to low thousands.
Have a look on youtube - Holts did a video in the last couple of years on AyA guns.
Their over and under’s similar sort of pricing.
Barrel length, bore, stock length and stocking dimensions all have a big impact on price so does general condition and tightness. Chokes will need to be opened up for steel shot. Cost £60 to £150 a barrel depending on who and where does it.
Not many gunshops these days are interested in taking in older second hand guns, or certainly not paying cash for them. They may take on a commission basis.
There are some that come into the market that were bought new and then have been in a safe / gun case ever since and hardly used. These have value.
Most will have been used a few times a season. Some will be completely loose and worn out.
