He could certainly tell a tale.

The reality is somewhat less exciting.

He was famous for seldom leaving the camp. He would spend all day drinking (nothing wrong with that on Safari), and writing up the hunting experiences of his colleagues from the previous evening's, fireside debriefs.

Any hoo.

I have all of his books, and they are all enjoyable - but then so was Hansel & Gretel and that wasn't true either.
