What a joke!
I'm all in favour of selectively breeding out undesirable characteristics (even if that ultimately changes the appearance of a breed), but ban! ban! ban! is just the British way of doing things. Always has been, sadly. We went all over the world banning things, and nothing's changed.

It’s interesting, not quite sure why some are there. Australian shepherd are born docked for instance- and one of the criteria is having a tail to wag.
Congenital issues like ectropion eye lids and skin folds, stubby faces need to addressed but banning teckels is a step to far.!!!
Don’t know how Rhodesian Ridgebacks escaped the list or why border terriers are on it.

It used to be simple enough, fail your 11+ or A levels and you were demonstrably thick.
The current system is definitely not improving things.

Simple solution is to close down the Royal Kennel Club breed standards that would get rid of 99% of the problems, the other 1% is bull breeds... working dogs are usually fine.

I just think banning things seems to be the default British response to pretty much any situation, and has been for centuries. It's not new.

Lots of odd choices on there, Beagles for one. That's why I assume its a load of rubbish.

Great dogs, very few problems from what I can remember. Mine lived until she was nearly 16. Her grandmother was 18.

Its also basiclly unenforceable.
