BASC statement on Home Office proposals

I am really surprised this medical issue appears to have gone quiet. I keep looking to read anyone's views and there are none, or at least no new ones. I take it therefore everyone accepts its a lost cause and whatever insurance/shooting organisation 'one' supports - they have failed ?
If there was ever a greater reason for a change to the representation of shooting sports then it hasnt sailed past me in the last 50+ years. I have written again to the HO Minister. I doubt I will have any influence as a simple voter.

I have heard on the grapevine that they are hard at it lobbying MP's, so let's see whether this policy works. I am however surprised they haven't looked at taking a trial case to court.

Is that 'love is all around you' , 'night of the long grass' or 'i cant control myself' ?
Maybe 'you can cry if you want to', or hopefully 'gonna make you'? - all seem to have some relevance.

yep,, night of the long grass.:thumb:

Continuing the musical theme, perhaps it's a case of a 'snake in the grass', and our representative bodies have just Bow Wow Wowed over and allowed us to be shafted once again . . . . .

there will be a lot of people going "wild in the country" when that happens.

I think 'send in the clowns' suits representative bodies ?
However, 'I cant get no satisfaction' sums it up from my point of view.

Still no advance on "political lobbying is the best route" ? I keep checking to see the matter isnt totally dead but have found nothing - anyone else have any 'updates'.

They used it for me along while before you pair.

I have not mentioned any shooting representatives but dont we all think some pressure should be maintained !
On another note, I am humbled to be in such august company - it appears you guys take no prisoners and thats right.

Political pressure and lobbying is a significantly cheaper and largely more effective route when dealing with challenges to law with no case law associated with them.

Challenge a law in the high court and watch the bills run into 7-8 figures. Who is going to pay for that?
Its also a very visible statement of intent that tends to raise the hackles of the opposition...leading to legal arms race and bigger bills

That said, anything firearms related is a turd of a topic no self respecting, career minded politician wants to hang his career on!
So who do you lobby!?
