It is with regret that I inform you that Mr Nick Rout, Head of Training, has left the British Deer Society. Nick became the head of training five years ago and, during his time with us, has made a significant and lasting contribution. He has built an excellent training team, guided us through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, and has supported the organisation during a period of nationwide financial pressure which affected charities across the United Kingdom. Thanks to his commitment, the Training Department is now in a strong and stable position and ready for the next stage of continuing to deliver the highest quality training both online and in person. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be reviewing the department’s goals and beginning the process of seeking a suitable successor. As our vision is to grow our online knowledge-based learning program, it is essential that we appoint someone who can lead the team, grow the delivery and breadth of training, and act as a visionary for the future development of BDS training. In the meantime, Dawn and Rhian will continue to manage the department, ensuring continuity and maintaining our high standards of delivery. I am sure you will join me in thanking Nick for his hard work and dedication, and in wishing him every success going forward. |
