Beretta BRX1 Barrel Changes

I’m interested in buying a Beretta BRX1, primarily because it’s configurable left handed, but also because I think I’d like a straight pull rifle.

I already own and am happy with a reasonably nice, older 6.5x55 (right handed), but in many European countries, (I live in Central Europe) 7mm is the minimum calibre for boar.

Therefore, I’d probably buy the BRX1 in 308.

I do like to punch holes in paper at longer ranges too, so I would consider growing my hair and buying a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel for the Beretta.

The BRX1 is marketed as a hunting rifle, and I’m not a competition shooter, but I have seen in a few places that the exchange 6.5 Creedmoor barrel for this rifle is marked as “heavy barrel”.

Cutting to the chase, does anyone have experience with the BRX1 in 6.5 Creedmoor and is it a decent range rifle in this calibre?

If you want a range rifle, buy a rifle dedicated for range use. Things like the Ruger precision are made left handed and in 6.5 CM. If you get into paper punching you will using optics dedicated for range shooting.

If you want a left handed 308 straight pull hunting rifle the BRX1 is well worth a look. They are not a Blaser R8, but nor are they R8 type money.

Any BRx1 parts out in the UK yet? Barrels bolt faces stocks etc??

I was going to pic up one for my kids in a .243 with the idea it could grow with them but no sign of any conversion parts yet her in Canada

We spoke to Beretta at the shooting show. My friend is really interested in a BRX rifle but we did warn him that they only currently come with hunting profile barrels and it would be beneficial to long range target shooting if they came with heavy barrels.

The guy we spoke to seemed to suggest that beretta will be coming out with a heavy barrel profile 308 "soon".
