Hi, is anyone using a Bergarra B14 Wilderness in 6.5?
Whats your opinnion on them?
I saw one in local gunshop, looks a really nice rifle.

No personal experience

I was going to buy one when I saw loads of issues with build quality , barrels Rusting, magazines falling out and more

It was enough to deter me

I got a T3 rebarreled to suit my needs.

I do like the look of the 7mm prc top end bergara though

I've recently bought a Bergara B14 hunter second hand. Having owned 2 tikka t3 rifles in the past,I can honestly say I prefer the Bergara. To add context to this thread,I've had several full custom rifles in the past. Pound for Pound, the Bergara line of rifles is probably the best you will find.

In the past I've been a rifle snob, always going for a full custom rifle. Don't get me wrong, these rifles were deadly accurate when fed with hand loaded bullets. The thing is,since falling on hard times recently,I've had to go for a factory rifle. The rifle in question is a Bergara B14 Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor. This particular rifle has amazed me with it's accuracy with factory ammunition. In short, full custom rifles only come into play at at extreme range where run off between barrel and action makes all the difference.

Bergaras are good rifles for the money. I made a thread about them. A lot of people here seem to have heard about issues but i don't remember having read many issues personally experienced, if any.

Mine are very accurate and i never had a single issue, even a older non cerakoted one was used in harsh conditions, from heavy rain to snow, never had rust.

There seem to have been a timespan where there were issues, it seems like bergara had too many orders and, in order to keep up with them, they lowered the QC standards. This damaged the reputation of the companies, only on forums though. I have never heard complaints about a bergara rifle in personal life. I have no idea if it is still the case.

Most people will reply with the usual annoying "just buy a tikka".

It's interesting I'm looking gor my 1st CF, primarily for fallow and have looked at the Howa 1500, but know my rfd sells Bergara.

At this time I have shouldered neither so may end up with something entriley different, so interested in reliability, both rifles from my research are accurate out of the box which for a newbie is good to know.

I'd be interested to know from those highlighting potential issues are speaking from personal experience, and if so when did they have that experience?

I had a trigger guard snap in half when I was putting the rifle back together after a clean.

This was during the later stages of covid but messaging the importer resulted in a replacement arriving quickly and free of charge. Rifle was accurate and no other issues.
