Best fox bait

Try a rabbit suspended on a rope but of reach of the dog, with the belly slit and entrails hanging out, smell, will tempt the fox, with some on the ground. that should work. Dog being well fed will probably ignore the bits on the ground but will bring in the fox.

Perfect Gets the aroma out there further on the breeze. :thumb: they cant resist it, the other one i use is squished up cat food and scatter it in a circle in little bits or up a small bush, you get the aroma in the air but nothing to eat

all to do is to stop em

Fermented shrimp/fish/squid oil from a fishing tackle shop, used to flavour fishing baits , it’s really concentrated, comes in a handy sqeezy bottle that you can “drip” a trail across a field with or squirt up a fence post, but DO NOT leave it in the car where the sun can get to it, you will not want to be the one to have to clear the mess up.
Think I’ve got some cracking idea 👍

Cat food in a watering can without the rose, slosh it up and pour, keeps fox in the area for ages as loads of little bits to keep them interested

Unsalted peanuts they love em, dig a slit with a spade then fill with nuts press down, charlie will find them get him used to the same site, then the rest is up to you

You could try n-butyric acid from carp fishing bait companys like nutrabaits ltd...the stuff honks like nothing else on earth, a horrid rancid smell that would i think draw foxes from a long way...treat with caution if you value your marriage..lol

I have an arrangement with the local fish shop. 2-3 times a week I get a text and rock up with a couple of empty buckets. Flatfish, cod, mackerel, herring, salmon etc etc bones, off cuts and guts are collected.
I use a number of bait sites with trail cameras to check what’s visiting. Charlie is a very good timekeeper but badgers will also get in on the action. This time of year I have to bait late as the local seagulls follow me around. Quick learners.
the bait sites do work better in the winter I must admit.

We've found that the one thing that a fox will take that neither our badgers or buzzards will are maggot ridden rabbits and squirrels. Might work for your gs.

Anyone got any suggestions for fox bait for one of my permissions been baiting at my bait station with food scraps out of date chicken etc cat food and been successful so far removed over 20 foxes but now the farmers German shepherd has developed a penchant for everything I put out inc raw chicken !!
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated preferably stuff the farm dog won’t eat 😂🤦‍♂️
Sprinkle dried cat food base of a telegraph pole every few days then, pinned a tin of fishy food chest height from floor then sat & waited

Let some eggs go off then mix them with water and put the resulting smelly liquid in a hand spray bottle. Simply go around spraying areas that you want to attract them to, you can also make a hole in the ground with a dibber or a stick and then drop a tin sardine into it. The fox will stand there for ages trying to dig it out which gives you plenty of time to take the shot

Just an 18” length of 3” pipe buried vertically and level with the surface, but be aware, a stink pipe in an area accessible to livestock is a broken leg waiting to happen, to reduce the chance of this happening you can bury it horizontally into a steep bank which will also give you a backstop?
