Best mouth fox call

So following on from the Icotec thread, what is your preferred mouth call gizmo? Sometimes it’s a pain to put the caller out if you are mobile and covering ground etc.
For those that are blessed with the ability to call off the hand I’ve never been able to do it, plus I mostly wear gloves so the type on a lanyard is what I’m talking about.
Ive got one of the Acme disc’s with the hole in that’s accounted for quite a few and one of the flat ones that I’ve had no joy with.

I made from a piece of brass copying the tennfield ones, works well, with a lots of crops down and warm they will be lazy, cubs have run off before as they didnt like it , but come the cold weather and hungry then it will come into it's own

A thin bit of hazel split in two,2 rubber bands and some old cassette tape.Slightly sand down the hazel so you create a gap in the middle, stretch the tape across the gap and use the bands either end to secure the tape in the middle to the required tightness.

I find the MK1 back of the hand to most effective, best thing is you can never forget to take it with you and you will never lose it .

 I'm damned if I can get even that to work let alone a Tenterfield. Used to be able to call my dog from 3 fields away with a 'lips only' squeak. Can't do that anymore for some reason and can't get a good squeak off my hand either. It has to be said, that trompsing around in the half-light/dark on a sheep farm touching gates and everything else, I'm not sure I want to spend too much time trying to suck the skin off my mitts.

+1 for this

As len said, you can hold it in your mouth so your hands are free and very easy to change pitch/volume etc

I used to handle foxes all the time until I got Chip and picked up one rotten with mange so since then a few pairs of disposable gloves in the pocket.

I always liked the wam, but do find the best fox call tenterfield type very good, every time I use the plastic reed type I feel something is going to pop in my head or get a facial hernia
