Big cats

Now we have all heard stuff in the press about big cats and I personally think that if they are about by now someone would have shot or run 1 over.
Yesterday evening I was out on my bike without a camera and I spotted a huge black cat.
I purposely got off the bike and slowly stalked down a hedge towards it.

Yes it was a big cat and I was about 10 yards away from it but it wasn’t anything other than a big domestic cat but bugger me it was big! Maybe some special breed.
It was fairly close to houses.
From the road it was big enough for me to stop and stalk up to it so I can definitely see why people think there are various things out there!

I guess that's exactly how all the big cat stories begin.
If it's black you can be pretty certain it's a domestic moggy, either a particularly large one or a trick of the light, perspective and imagination!

When I hear reports of so-called "big cats" that are striped, speckled or spotted then I might take them more seriously, but as long as they remain black then I'll take them with a pinch of salt.

I used to as well ,however my brother who was an avid hillwalker and naturalist saw what he described as a black panther walking along a fence line ,he had binos with him but sadly no camera that day he estimated by comparing the 'cat' to the gaps between fence posts of the fence it was walking along it was approx 6ft from nose to tail tip.
He did report it at the time to both the police and a group set up to record sitings

Seen a ocelot on the m27 , it had escaped from paultons park. We here the lions daily here as we have a lion park up the road.
