I don't know, it pretty much stopped me, and I was only at the back end of it....
Yes, but you are decidedly less threatening than an enraged cape buffalo and only weigh about 20lbs soaking wet...

But would the front end be as frightening as a Cape Buffalo?
Only reason I DONT have a Barrett 50 cal is there is no range near me that i could shoot it, would love to learn to shoot out to 1000 yds ,,,acurately
He, his partner, and the guide ( who hit it twice in the chest with a .470 NE), could all feel the sweat dripping inside their trousers.
Wasn't there once an Association or Club where Big Bore 'African' Rifles were used, or have I been Eating too much strong Cheese before Bedtime again?
Yorkie.
Are they sure it was sweat!
I'm not that surprised it took four .375 and two .470, buffalo are vivacious animals! As the adage goes "take the biggest gun you can shoot accurately" and I would sure as hell try and get to be able to shoot a .577 Nitro accurately.
Yes! Ha ha!Are they sure it was sweat!
This is a fun thread, but let's not get carried away. Even their best friends wouldn't describe buffalo as vivacious.![]()
Don't really see the application in Britain, but when I become fabulously wealthy (confidence is key) I will commission Holland & Holland to build me a fine 500NE sbs double. And then go on safari. A lot.
Slightly more realistically I really fancy a go with a big bore black powder rifle. .577/450 Martini-Henry anyone?
Well at about 60 ft-lbs more recoil energy than a 577 nitro (in same weight rifles) it's something that even I wouldn't want to own!!You've lost me mate
