Hi all

Looking at some mid range binos. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with which ones would be best. Looking at Nikon monarch m7, Vortex viper, GPO passion and Bushnell legend L series

Cheers!

Hello, Much depends on budget and how good you want the glass to be, ?? I read on a lot of posts Deer Stalkers do tend to want/ buy good quality Binos, Not up to most Stalkers standard but i bought some Pyser SG 1 ( Japan ) many years ago and they are stiil good to use, I also bought some good used binoculars of Japan and German and most were around a tenner off Oxford market although i bought some nice Bushnells off ebay, £12, I not long ago gave my keeper friend a pair of 8x40 Old Boots brand but made in Japan Binoculars, They cost me £10

I've some Swarovski EL 8.5x42 that have rarely been out of the house! Had them from new and paid just shy of £1600 for them. I have original packaging etc and will be listing them on here soon as they never get used, other than for bird watching at home!
Open to sensible offers before I list them, if you're interested.

Thanks for the offer but out of my price range 😅

Try and look through as many as you can. I went to the local camera shop and looked through a few. I had it narrowed down to Ziess terra or the opticron. But after looking through both of them at the same shop, the opticron won, hands down for me.
But our vision is personal and whilst I preferred the Opticrons to the Ziess Terra's, as well as others in store, other people may look through them and see the opposite to why I did.

No matter what you go for, I highly recommend looking through them first. If you can look through a few pairs in the same store, you're able to compare them in exactly the same conditions and get a truer impression of what will suit you

For example, Woodlander had a set of Zeiss BGAT T* coated binos on here for sale. They are some of the most highly rated optics ever made and listed for a bit over £300. Superb optics that will hold their value should you ever move them on.

Try as many different brands as you can as what suits one may not suit you - optics and eyes are funny things.
