Hi guys
i hope this is the correct place for this question? Recently purchased my first black powder revolver Remington NMA .44. I want to make up charges ready for the range. What type of vials do people use? Do I have to use a static free plastic?
Would these be suitable?

thanks

I use one of these:

Welcome to the darkside!

Thanks Swedish. The guys in the club are very chuffed with getting a new user lol. Those are the ones I was looking at just trying to keep the cost down, might have to just bite the bullet so to speak.

Is there a problem with metering the powder at the range? And are you using FFFG or a substitute? ~Muir

(I love BP revolver shooting: .31 to .457)

My old gun club liked you to have it sorted into small vials beforehand...

I sold all my kit and have been without any B/P weapons for a couple of years now

I am awaiting a variation coming back for a .44 6 shot uberti....

I will be using Pyrodex p. The club isn’t keen on people using powder flasks and I thought it would be more convenient as well.

It's really not more convenient but if they aren't "keen" on you using a flask, then you are stuck with it. ~Muir

Any plastic vials should be fine. The size could be based on if you prefer to have the propellant and the filler in the same one or not. You may need to try a few samples to make sure the volume is right before you got for the bulk.

Thanks. I will get some and experiment. Can’t wait to get shooting now, just love these style of pistols.

I've used small glass test tubes in the past to eliminate any static problems - However now mostly use cheap plastic vials for my single shot muzzle loader. For my revolver I made some 6 chamber containers.

Now 8 of them would save about 45 mins of faffing around on the range on a day. Add a foot press to seat 6 lead balls all at once, you may have a winner combination.

I've made the press.. :)
Definitely well made and that's one press I would love to have. On the improvement, I was thinking about something like the one below which can seat 6 lead balls all at once and since it does take a bit of force, easier if it was foot powered. I have seen presses which one need to screw down to seat the lead balls but unless one is built like Hulk, it isn't as easy.

Plastic vials which fit in one of the 308 MTM ammo boxes.

I tried glass and ended up breaking them.

You should be able to get 100 vials for £10.
