Hi Gents

Looking for advice on how best to boil a stags head? Of course, I would prefer to use equipment that is easily available but it would be nice to see people's homemade devices.

Large pan and a propane gas ring. Boil it outside or swmbo will not be happy. Skin the head first, about 20 mins rolling boil for a short nose, extra 10 mins for a long nose cut. I use a pressure washer to clean mine. Treat with peroxide or similar whilst still wet, then let dry naturally.

No need for a fancy boiler. Just wait until the missus is out, and use the kitchen. Only do make sure the head that you're boiling is reasonably fresh. That way you can pass off the lingering aroma as soup.
The aftereffects of boiling a stale head are a little less easy to explain away.

Send it to ironmatt on here, 30 quid or so and jobs done!
Not trying to do the man out of business and it might be an idea if its your first and you don't have the equipment ,but
learn to do them yourself its part of stalking and its not that hard .
heard it all don't have time don't have the equipment if you have time to shoot them you have time to do the head,
equipment burco boiler failing that an old tea urn works fine even a large pot and a gas ring outside you could do it on the hob in the kitchen but I would not recommend it

Very similar to deep fat fryer..just the same smart thinking (outside the box so to speak) well done.

As above Berko boiler in the shed.make a wire harness too hold the head still.i like cleaning them by hand very therapeutic. No waste the dogs love a bit of brain.eyes etc

Two burner camping stove in the garage. Largest pot I could find. I use paracord to suspend the head and keep an eye on the depth of the water.
