Bow Hunters in Devon and Somerset

Just wondering, are there any bow hunters in this area that would like to meet up and have a chat about bow hunting etc. I have a friend who has a 30 yard indoor range perhaps a bit of shooting and a pint after.
Feel free to P.M. me.

Might do better if you can overturn the stupid laws about using archery tackle in this country!
When they do eventually wake up and change the law and if I'm still alive I'll be straight down getting another bow.

I do agree but in the meantime we will just have to travel abroad. I am going to Namibia in 2024 then to Hungary. It would be good to go with a couple of chaps if anyone is interested.

Totally stupid but will never happen. Would rather have bow hunting than horse and hounds but won't happen. Ex olympic recurve guy... miss it to be honest.

Would be great to see bows in uk as the rest of the world.
I learnt a lot in my formative years.
1st junior barebow .
European field archery competition 1969

Because it suits your preference ? We're all going down with that attitude.

Rubbish man. I am purely expressing an opinion that bow is much mire effective than persons on horses.

I will also express firearms are better than bows.

As a nation the archery skills of the UK has probably grassed as much over generations as well as put enemies on the floor.

And yeah, I still stand by that comment as its a personal opinion. You have yours. I have mine.

Used a bow for many a day in my youth and also rode point to pointers out hunting for a chap.
Must admit I loved the long bow, but for real excitement, a good scent at 15.00 hrs on a winter's day and a six or seven mile point knocked the spots off any other sport. Unfortunately due to wounds and busted bones haven't been on a nag for 15 years or so.

I did enjoy hunting when i was in my , early forties I hunted for about 16 years, always went down to Exmoor for a week at the start of the season, and another week when we had finished with our local packs at the end of the season, had a point to pointer of my own to hunt, all the best of sport, if it ever happened I would chuck my gun or rifle in a ditch and jump on a loose horse to follow hounds if the chance came, nothing to beat it.
