Breathable active trousers

I'm after a pair of comfortable trousers for an alpine hunt.

They need to be very breathable

No drop liners - therefore happy with windproof not waterproof

Not cotton - I already have a Fjallraven. While not warm (I'll be layering if required) I need something a little thicker.

Any suggestions?

Look at Kuhl trousers. v well made and high quality.
Also I know this sound daft but look at Genius gardening trousers. V high spec. They may ideal for your requirements

2nd vote for Haglofs. I have a pair of stretchy ones for hiking and some old ones that are really thick and robust - I think "Rugged standard" are the current equivalent. They have ventilation zips on the thighs which really do help manage different temperatures and levels of exertion.

But I wear my Fjallravens (with long johns if it's cold), in preference if out on the mountains because they are tough enough and lighter and more comfortable than the heavy Haglofs.

KUIU attack or one of their similar. Or one of the slightly heavier guide trousers if you want more water resistance. Expensive but most good things are. Postage takes about a week and there aren’t any hidden changes after paying. I mention this as it’s something that puts people off.

Fjallraven Vida pro with vents and use merino leggings Swazi do a good soft shell type trouser robust and neat fitting.
Kuiu are great but pants I had were not robust enough for my hunting
H&M do some really great value stuff I wear for work etc Think they are called water resistant trousers bout £49
