BRNO 611 22wmr

After a recent visit to the local gunshop to collect a few sundries, I found myself browsing through the racks to pass the time, ive already decided that I don't want any more rifles as I'm more than happy with my current stalking set up, when in the corner looking all sad and forgotten about was an old brno 611. Not having handled one before I picked the little lass up and in my own mind it was that ugly that it was beautiful and its handling was for me perfect it was like pointing my finger. Ive had a wmr before and regretted selling it so I'm already sold on the calibre, I have a specific use for it, just after a few opinions on the rifle, ive read up and generally its regarded as reliable but no one mentions accuracy. The old girl is that cheap it would be a shame not to put it back to use.

Have a look at Muir's posts on te subject - he has an amazing one. I missed out on one due to timing and funds and now regret it Just make sure it has a magazine with it - almost impossible to find and very expensive. Accuracy is fine for vermin at sensible ranges, from what I have read. Good luck - I'm envious!

Hi ruby
they are a nice litter plinking rifle , in a calibre that gets forgoton about but is well on top of it's job , I have one brand new in the box whitch will go to a colleter one day , as for mags they are like hens teeth , but I have them for sale , so don't let the lack of a mag spot you from buying it

all the best

Buy it & enjoy.
I brought a totally mint 611 a couple of years ago , amazing little rifles mines is topped with a 4 x 32 Zeiss C , I cringe at the thought at threading the barrel so I decided to leave it stock. There are two models 611 & 611A , the 611 are finished much nicer .. I've seen mags go in the US $200 -$300 I'm not joking !!!

611A doesn't have the bolt hold open on last shot either.

Love mine, fantastic for shooting lots of rabbits off the back of a truck! Only down side is it blows primer compound back in your face if used with a mod on occasion

Can any one point me in the direction of Muirs post on his, tried looking for it but hes been quite active , thanks for the replies deposit has been paid.

Picked up the old girl on saturday, what a blast, run around fifty rounds through it with no feed issues, but as of yet cant get better groups than 3" at 50 yards time to get the cleaning rods out its filthy. Turned out it was even better value than I originally thought as it came with a couple boxes of ammo.

Try different ammo, as there is a big difference in what .22 WMR rifles prefer.
Remington with the polymer tips shoot superbly in my old Mossberg bolt action.

Also, don't clean it too much. I have never seen a 22WMR that wanted to be scrubbed clean. Also, try different gripping pressures or "holds" My rifle has never given a group that bad, with even the worst ammo.~Muir

Accuracy was off on mine Recently, was down to the end cap on the mod working loose (ASE utra), what ammo are you feeding it, mine seems to shoot Remington / CCI / hornady pretty well, a coupe of other brands not so much

I've had one since the mid 90's. Here in West Tennessee during our archery season for deer you can not use a centerfire gun to hunt coyote's which are an invasive species and are in season year round. I have used mine for years and my only complaint is the trigger is a little heavy and gritty. Accuracy is excellent and it shoots most of the available 22mag ammo well . My preference is the Winchester 40gr hollow point in the silver box . These are great guns.

Have tried a few different ammo, problem is my local shop only has one brand, there is a bit of movement on the timber fore-end where the fixing screw fits will try a bit of neoprene as a temporary fix to see if that helps one thing is for sure it brings a smile to my face when ive rattled a full mag down range.

Hi Mike,

I have sent you PM re mags for sale,

Pat.

Fantastic underrated round and rifle. - I have shot one for a while and it never ceases to amaze me on the accuracy and knockdown. - it will grass a fox at a 100 Yds with ease
