Browning x bolt - weak primer strike

I have a Browning X bolt in .243 and a couple of times, i have pulled the trigger and heard a click but the bullet did not fire. There is a small indent on the bullet primer.

Someone has suggested that this is because the bolt was not fully closed... apparently even the smallest margin will cause this.

Would this be the case and is this a common issue with the X Bolt ?

Thanks in advance

Charlie

This common with every rifle. First thing I would check is if the stock obstructs the bolt in any way.
