Bushnell Service

Just wondering what you chaps think.. some time ago i sent back a pair of Bushnell RF Binos to their UK repair centre (the focus adjustment dial has broken off completely and prior to that there was some debris evident inside the objective lenses)

Cutting a long story short they wont repair them but they are prepared to give me a 'significant discount' by allowing me to pay £360 for the now equivalent pair (mine are no longer made) OR i can have my very own (now useless) pair returned to me (the woman i spoke to appeared to think this was of some benefit)

Any thoughts?

What was the Warranty that was given with your Binos? If they are refusing to honour this then get Legal with them. If your Binos are out of Warranty then you are down to appealing to their good nature and generosity. The Americans seem more receptive to this approach so you could try Bushnell H.O.

Hi yorkie, i'm not sure on the warranty i have had them for about seven years or so now and i did email the US office but you just get redirected back to the UK as thats where the repair originated from (or attemts to repair in this case)

A very good reason to buy S&B, Zeiss, Swarovski or Leica...no quibbles & parts availability for years, + very quick turnaround time. Yes, you pay more, but the bonus comes later.

Action Optics Southampton do all their repair work I beleive. Worth a try direct - nice people to deal with and you get to talk to the person that does the repair.! They repair all makes of optics.

Apologies for the delayed reply (tough to get on here at present) i've had a couple of encouraging phone calls and emails from a key chap at Bushnell which are promising, i'll update this post on any new developments.
