C50 vs Wraith ultra

Thanks for that , we are in the process of making a decision on which of these models to stock as they are both at a price point that our customers are happy to pay. We stocked the ATN for a while but quality control on the import side seemed to let them down as a large percentage were faulty out of the box. The pulsar has the ‘name’ but that doesn’t always mean better. Infiray insist that their product is better and have quoted a better backup service. But at the end of the day we want to stock the model that people want.

If you stock Infiray you're dealing with Highland Outdoors.
If you stock Pulsar you are dealing with Thomas Jacks
Thomas Jacks has been the sole importer of Pulsar products for many years and has a wealth of experience with them and can do servicing, some repairs and warranty work
You made a good decision on ATN, make another good decision by choosing Pulsar over Highland Outdoors

Cheers

Thanks everyone for all the information, I think it’s C50 , I’ll just have to wait. But sounds like it’s worth the wait. Cheers.

You will find the biggest thread on this message board about the c50.

I had one of the first out, from the get go I knew I made the right decision, I love it, I use it on most of my jobs now, I can record my work and if needed show it my client.

To add I zero d it once and I have never had to ajust it since.

It's definitely worth the extra expense you will find my videos on youtube.

Pulsar make quality products

I’ll just put this on here again for anyone wondering how the C50 performs in darkness with a little ambient moonlight, this is nearly 1am in the morning. Once spotted with the thermal nearly everything I’ve shot I’ve been able to get the gun on the sticks and acquire it and have it in the cross hairs before flicking the torch on, no waving around trying to find it with a ton of laser blaring out, some nights better than others but there’s nearly always something to see.
The focus always needs adjusting between natural light and ir so that munty would have been considerably clearer if I’d have focused it for natural light, perfectly shootable (if it was a fox)
I’m finding this a real advantage and gives more time to prepare for a shot on foxy before you potentiality give yourself away with the glow of ir.

Which IR are you using?

That’s a PBIR-S.
not a lot different to a srx then, so c50 needs a lot of laser also.

If buying now it would be a C50 but that was not a choice when i purchased my ATN, which has accounted for several hundred rabbits mainly at night, picture quality looks not un similar to the posted video to my eyes.
Pulsar over ATN as a brand would be the deciding factor.

Actually a big difference, the PBIR-S and X are lower powered LED based infra red torches. The solaris SRX is a VCSEL laser with tons more power.
You can comfortably use a standard T38 ir with the C50, this was taken with my old original i used with a home brew kit.

Stand corrected, but the sheep look very close, and does it really matter if you need VCSEL or not provided you can reach out to the target at the distances you want to shoot.
Yet to see any reason to bin the ATN.

On the contrary. I was quite surprised by how little assistance it actually needs.

I’ve had a C50 a couple of months now having gone from thermal back to digital NV. It’s a great piece of kit, sturdy and well made. Viewing is excellent and the 23 foxes at between 60 and 220 meters I’ve shot in that time are testament to its quality. Not quite Dronepro quality but sadly they are a thing of the past now with the lack of parts. My shooting college had a Wraith for one night before it went back. As @Blackwood Outdoors says be wary of certain YouTube reviews……. They aren’t worth a monkeys.

I didn’t either and was very cynical on some of the threads but had to hold my hand up after a few outings. It all depends on the application, still have original 008‘s sitting on my rimfire’s but for anyone buying new with that sort of budget then yes and certainly anyone foxing or stalking will see the benefits of the C50’s features.
No amount of videos or quotes will replace actual time looking through any scope, the thing I touched on earlier about being able to make out your quarry without any illumination before the shot really is a benefit out in the field and once experienced you become aware of the advantages it brings. The low light performance for stalkers is unreal, you can shoot in full colour right up to last knockings whereas your ATN’s Pards etc you will be looking at a black screen and if you can make something out it will be lagging like the clappers, the C50 doesn’t suffer from lag when the light is going.
Regarding lasers vs led ive said before since going from lasers on the Pards to led with the Pulsar I’ve noticed that less foxes seem to be aware of my presence, sometimes continuing to look and walk towards me sub 100yds with the light on them, logic says more covert but who knows, could be pure coincidence :)

Horses for courses I guess, still have a photon on my .22lr and does all i ask for rabbits to 60/70 yards.
A C50 will have to wait until either the photo or ATN stop working 😂 given the current increases in the cost of living 😡

Looking through the C50 can you tell the difference between a rabbit and a hare though ?
