Camouflage Tape on Mod

Hi everyone

I went out with my buddy shooting with his hush power .410 shotgun, had a lot of fun. Anyways his moderator is covered in camouflage tape made me want to wrap the mod on my .243 however I also think what if the mod gets wet might be difficult to dry and lead to rust… or if it was to get wet and I left the mod over a radiator for a couple of hours, would this be ok? Or just avoid lol

I like looking after my tools I’m not scared of getting scratches or dings as these are tools at the end of the day. I just don’t like causing a issue that wasn’t there

Had cloth camo tape, equivalent of sniper tape, on a PES stainless for as long as I’ve owned it, never had any issues with corrosion, I just leave it on a radiator stood upon its end to dry off. As K says though, I’d hate to try & remove it as the glue has stuck to it exactly as he says 🤣

I've also found the stuff that makes elastin-like horse leg bandages 'grip' breaks down after a period of time and can be a similar pain in the high seat to remove.

Never really had a problem with it sticking- can remove from mod and dry and stick back on quite a few times before it looses it self adhesive . Then just put a single new wrap around where old wrap stops to save how much you use.

Don't bother. You're deerstalking so if the critter can see, and note, your moderator it's game over.

It's also a PITA to remove tape glue and the attendant cloth particles that will adhere like 💩 to a blanket when you realise the error of your ways!

They never seen my mod before I just liked the look of it

I use a neoprene cover. I spray the T8 with a light covering of gun oil then put the cover on. Never had a issue with rust and I’m out in all weathers
I had a neoprene mod cover on my .243
I snagged it on a twig when climbing into a highseat in the dark one morning.
I didn't think to check whether it had been dislodged at all.
First shot sounded a bit off, and about 20 yards in front of my seat I found the smouldering remnants of my mod cover.
Not used one since.

Mine can’t come off.
