Can anyone jog my memory with regard to an Archery accident?

Hi.
Recently i and a friend were discussing Archery and Bows. There was a guy British guy killed with his own Bow. I think it maybe shattered. If i remember correctly he was an shooter or outdoorsman. Can anyone remember this incident and the guys name?
Thank you.

Surely there must be more to this.
Did they never find out what penetrated his head?
This is all new to me.
I did have one two of his gundog training vids.

I think it was this from what I recall. He was in his workshop and the bow broke? With bow and string both fixed and testing the draw weight or some such trial? So the stored energy sent the broken bow stave the other way as the bowstring remained fixed? Into him? An arrow goes forward as the bow being fixed (in a vice or the archer's hand) is the direction where the stored energy is sent.

If OTOH the bow comes loose from where it is held, or by breakage part of it does, it will come back toward where the string is held. So as far as I remember it wasn't an arrow that harmed him but a piece of the bow stave that came back? I can only speculate but some bows that break under test break at the tip...the part where the string is nocked at either end...if that came flying back and was, say, horn, I'd imagine it would be possibly quite an amount of energy.
